Benchtop Table Saws - Read Before You Buy!

Benchtop table saws can save you a ton of time on the job site. They're much more exact than the hand held circular variety. If you get a good model, they stand up to a lot of use. The qoute with benchtops is accuracy. So, you need to know why you're buying it, and also if there are alternatives out there.

Basically, there are four types of table saws, benchtop, contractor, cabinet, and hybrid. We won't talk about hybrid saws much, here. They're basically a hybrid of a contractor saw and a cabinet saw. Sort of an in between saw. We will talk briefly about each of the other three.

Saw Bench

Benchtops are designed to be put on a table, the floor, a tailgate of a pickup, or even the ground. They're generally lightweight for a engine tool that it. About 40 to 80 lbs. You can carry them to the job site, cut what you need to, then put them back up. They cost as minuscule as 0, but for a capability saw, you're going to have to spend double that.
